We're about to start our 24-hour reading of the New Testament I'll be reading starting in the book of Matthew chapter 1 verse we are standing on the campus of 威尼斯人注册 in the midst of our 24-hour reading of the New Testament starting in Matthew finishing in Revelation as many times as we can and in the middle of our reading of the New Testament we are pausing to stand in the circle of family with our brothers and our sisters in Kenya two weeks ago on Thursday a hundred and forty seven students out of school of 700 were killed for their faith in Kenya and a lot of LCU has been to Kenya we've had a lot of students there a lot of 教师 that have spent many many years in Kenya and so we simply thought it appropriate that we stand alongside them in prayer and to remember them to recognize them to be in solidarity with them to pray for them to pray not only for those who died but to pray for those who did the killing there be peace on earth and so what we're doing tonight it is not a publicity stunt it's not to draw attention to anybody but God and the people in Kenya it's part of the life of LCU I think that these are the things that we tried to do we tried to be aware of what's happening in the world and stand in solidarity with people who suffer even if it's simply gathering around and praying so that's what we're doing tonight this place is one that changes lives for the better and it happens through events like this through our New Testament reading for 24 hours and for our our gathering together to stand with our brothers and sisters who have either lost loved ones in Kenya or around the world those who are suffering those who are perhaps in despair those who find themselves at the hand of an oppressor it is our task to stand next to them intercede on their behalf and love them and it's certainly left"
